Privacy Policy

Last updated June 2026

This is a plain-language template provided for transparency. It is not legal advice — have it reviewed by counsel before launch.

Overview

Honeybee helps you store and share your pet's health records. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the control you have over it. In plain terms: your data is yours, it's only visible to you and the people you explicitly share with, and we never sell it.

Information we collect

Account details (your name and email), the pet information you add (names, species, microchip numbers, photos, and health records), documents you upload or forward to your pet's inbox, and basic technical data needed to run the service (such as logs and device information). Clinics may add records to a pet they register.

How we use it

To provide the service: storing your records, generating AI summaries and document extractions, delivering reminders and lost-pet alerts, and enabling the share links and transfers you create. We do not use your pet's health data to train third-party models beyond what is needed to process a document you submit.

Sharing & disclosure

Records are private by default and protected by row-level security. They are shared only when you create a share link, invite a co-owner, transfer ownership, or when a clinic you are connected with adds a record. We use trusted infrastructure providers (such as our database and AI processor) under contract; we do not sell personal data.

Data retention & deletion

We keep your data while your account is active. You can export or delete your data at any time from your account settings, or by contacting us. Deleting your account removes your pets and records, subject to limited backups that expire on a rolling basis.

Your rights

You can access, correct, export, or delete your information. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA. Contact us to exercise any of these.

Children

Honeybee is intended for adults managing their pets' records and is not directed at children under 13.
